Busy Monday!

Sunday afternoon, I had no plans for Monday and then things changed and I had a busy Monday, but enjoyed every minute!
In the morning I watched some friends of ours 2 kids. We played the Wii, colored and played with matchbox cars.

In the afternoon, I met my dear friend Brooke for lunch and had some girl time!

In the evening, we had the Busby's over for dinner and enjoyed some Rita's Italian Ice for dessert. I made homemade BBQ pork sandwiches, corn on the cob, cole slaw and onion rings! We enjoyed cuddling up in our blankets to watch the Rays game!

I'll add the recipe for the BBQ soon!

Thankful Thursday!

It's hard to believe that last Thursday I was posting while in South Carolina. I'm now back in Florida in the HOT weather. South Carolina was hot, but nothing compared to what it has been like this week. I've gotten up a couple of mornings to go walk on the beach, but it has just been too hot for me. So I've been walking with ExerciseTV-free on demand tv! I've walked 2 miles every morning! I did go to Weight Watchers today and only gained 0.4. I was happy with that after being on vacation for a week and not attending Weight Watchers for two weeks. If I had not been attending WW, I'm sure I would have gained 4 pounds! Thank the Lord!!

I'm thankful for safety this Thursday. We had an uneventful trip back from S.C. However, I was out doing errands on Monday and I went back to my car at this one store and my car wouldn't start. That's just a horrible feeling! I called Mike and he asked some questions, but told me to go ahead and call AAA to get the car towed. I went back into the store and the nice gentleman that worked at the store asked if he could help. I told him what had taken place and he went out to look at the car and got the car started, so I cancelled the tow truck and drove directly up to the car shop. Thank goodness it was only the battery. Mike meet me up there so we enjoyed a nice afternoon date eating lunch together and shopping at Clearwater Mall for the afternoon. I was so thankful that it happened on Monday and not Sunday on our trip back to Florida! Thank the Lord for his perfect timing!

I also want to praise the Lord for the Summer Bible Study that I started on Tuesday night with the "blogging world". Beth Moore is facilitating "Me, Myself and Lies" by Jennifer Rothschild on her blog. Tuesday she posted the first video for you to watch to get started. This is a 6 week study and so thankful that I am able to commit and rely on God's Word this summer.

Meditate on this: Psalm 19:14 "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer."

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day! I love you, Daddy. I'm glad I got to spend a week with you this last week. I enjoyed our time together. You are always kind and giving. There are so many things that I could say, but I would run out of room. Just a few of my favorite memories were riding in the back of the blue pick up truck to the pool during the summers, going to Disney World (Looking forward to doing it again in 3 weeks!), playing basketball at the Kingsgate pool: daughters vs daddy's, playing baseball in our backyard with our neighborhood friends, helping me with school projects and studying for tests, rubbing my back every morning to wake up for school, fun lunches during my school years--I think my favorite was the rolled up PB and J sandwiches, long trips in the car to Florida to take me to college, and now spending time with me (and letting me ride up front with you in the suburban) on our outings in South Carolina! Thanks, Daddy for being you and my daddy! I love you!

Happy Father's Day! I love you, Mike. You may not be a daddy to a daughter or son of ours, but you are a terrific daddy to our furry puppy, Cooper. He loves you and you take such good care of him. Thank you for putting up with all my tears and questions when we were getting Cooper. I was so scared and you were so confident. I know that one day soon the Lord is going to bless us with a child of our own. You will be the best daddy. Thanks, Mike for being you and my hubby! I love you!

Happy Father's Day! I love you, Dad(Pops-as Mike calls you). You are someone special that God has given me to draw me closer to Him. I enjoy all our "theological" talks about the Bible. I'm always thinking. We have lots of laughs and always watch some old movies that I have never seen before. You are leaving a loving legacy in your son. I'm so glad I chose him and your family. Thanks, Pops for being you and my father in law! I love you!

Thankful Thursday!

It's Thursday again and I have lots to be thankful for. This will be short, but I will catch up all next week. I'm so thankful for all the time with my family in SC. We are having a great time. Here are just a few things I'm thankful for:

-My parents surprise 35th Wedding Anniversary cookout was a success and a surprise!
-I finished their memory book on time. (I still have to add a few more letters from family and friends.)
-A lovely 10th Anniversary dinner for Mike and me at our favorite Italian restaurant in SC--Portofino's!
-Getting together with Mike's best friend from high school in NC! (Pictures will come soon!)
-Going to Gaffney to the Rifle Range and having some "family bonding" time!
-Getting my tie-dye Mickey Mouse shirt from my sister-in-law to wear on our vacation in 3 weeks and 3 days!
-My sister in law, Katie, teaching me a new hobby! CROCHET
-Holding Maggie!

Have a great weekend!

Thankful Thursday!

Boy, has this week flown by! Here we are at Thursday again. I went to Weight Watchers tonight and I gained 0.4. That's not bad for eating homemade ice cream from The Candy Kitchen last night. I'm hoping to have a weight loss next week. Stay posted for next week's loss.

Tomorrow, June 12, Mike and I are celebrating our 10th Wedding Anniversary. It is hard to believe that it has been 10 years since we said, "I do". Like any marriage we have our ups and downs, but the one thing that helps our marriage is our relationship with Christ. I'm so THANKFUL for a husband who has a personal relationship with his Savior. Several months ago, Mike asked me what I wanted for our anniversary (he was really thinking ahead): a cruise or a ring? Well, I quickly responded a ring. He was shocked at how quickly I answered and I began to explain that a cruise only lasts for 7 days and a ring will last much longer. Well. . . I got a new DIAMOND RING! I love it. Thank you for taking such good care of me and providing above and beyond my needs and desires. The ring is perfect and I think of Mike everytime I look at it! I love you. Happy 10th Anniversary!

Verse for the week:
I Peter 3:7 "Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your
wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with
you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers."

Surprise Outing!

My sweet hubby is earning lots of brownie (or should I say Ice Cream) points this week! Tonight after church he took the t-tops off the TransAm and said we were going cruisin'! How fun!!! We started to follow our friends and I thought something was up his sleeve and sure enough something was. . .We meet our friends, Wes, Dallace, and Madison, at The Candy Kitchen on the Beach! This was the first time I had ever been there. It was fun to see all the soda's and different candies from the past. They even had fried worms and crickets that you could eat! YUCK! I enjoyed some Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream. (I will have to do some extra walking tomorrow before I go to Weight Watchers.) Mike slurped down a chocolate malt. We also picked up a few candies for our road trip on Friday.

That was a fun surprise and you can surprise me like that again sometime soon! I enjoyed hanging out with the Crew tonight. Looking forward to hanging out again soon!

P.S. You can see part of my new Vera Bradley bag that I bought today in the pictures. I had a gift card to Marion's in St. Pete and they just happen to be having a sale on retiring Vera bags! Because of the sale, I still have money left on my gift card to go back!

Brownie Points!

Does your husband earn brownie points??? It's a tradition in my parents house, so Mike and I have adopted the joke as well. The rule with brownie points is that the spouse can not earn more than a +1. However, last night Mike earned about +50 points. (Remember the max. is 1, so 50 is HIGH!!!) :-) I had a friend stop over with her 3 children to chat and hang out for a bit. Well, we just got busy talking that she was here until Mike got home from work! Mike then suggested that they stay for dinner and call her husband so that he could join us. To instead of fixing dinner for 2, he had to fix dinner for 7! So Mike and one of my friend's children took off to the store to buy a few more things for dinner. Mike then cooked dinner. He fixed BREAKFAST! He made fluffy scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, canadian bacon, and waffles! Not only did he go to the store, fix dinner, but the best thing was he cleaned up the kitchen! The dishwasher loaded and running!! We had a great time with our friends, I was so busy intertaining the 3 kids and chatting that I forgot to take a single picture! Oh well, maybe next time!

Enjoy your brownie points--I love you, Mike!!!

So Where Do You Live--Office!

I was nervous when I saw Kelly had listed offices on the house tour. Our office/storage room was a real mess. I quickly turned my negative attitude into a "I think I can" attitude. This is my first week of summer vacation, so I thought I would get all the "spring cleaning" out of the way. I was hoping to be done with the office/storage room yesterday, so I could post on Kelly's home tour, but I didn't finish until a few minutes ago! It took me two days to work on this room. I'm so proud of all the cleaning out that I have done! My car has a trunk load of things to go to a Thrift Store and I have more space in our closets! Two main reasons why we bought this house was for the closet space and the size of the bathrooms, which you will see next week! We have our computer in this room and another desk for me to work on scrapbooking!

This is the view from the hallway.

This is our computer desk. My parents brought it to us from SC. My dad used to work at home and this was his "office". When my dad changed jobs, my parents wanted to change the "office" back into a guest room. I love the desk and I use it everyday! What would I do without a computer???

This is my scrapbook desk--well, creative thinking--its a homemade cabinet with a door for the top! It's covered with laminate/formica. I would love to paint it or something! Any ideas??? Mike has his P90X workout items in the corner with our TV trays. (I'm thinking about decorating them like Kelly did.) Then the other corner is my hubby's reloading press that has to be kept inside due to the weather in Florida!

As you can see, the closets are huge in this house! The closet in this room takes up the entire wall!

I'm so glad we moved 3 years ago to this house to have a guest room as well as an office/storage room. Thanks for touring my office!

Thankful Thursday!

I love Thankful Thursday! I'm on day 2 of my summer vacation and it's already going fast. Yesterday, I stayed home and cleaned, organized and did laundry. Nothing much to blog about. Well, today I have so much to blog about! Cooper had an appointment to go to the groomer's this morning. While there, they also told me that he was due for a check up. So I thought, while he was there to go ahead and take care of everything, so he wouldn't have to go back. He was a good sport and worn out by the time he got home this afternoon. While Cooper was getting his hair cut, I went shopping. While shopping, a friend from my church and Bible Study was shopping too. We chatted for a bit and went on our way. Well. . .I was finding way too many deals (mostly for Maggie) that by the time I got out of the store it was lunch time to my surprise! I called Mike to see if he wanted to do lunch. I had a gift card for Panera, but the line was out the door, so we headed to the best place without a gift card, CHICK-FIL-A! They were busy, but lunch was nice and hot! I also had a doctor appointment today and all is well. I go for bloodwork again at the end of the month, only 9 more months left!!! Then I don't see him until September! I'm amazed at the doctor's office. My appointment was at 3:00, but he didn't see me until after 4:30! I could have gotten really upset, but it was a great hour and a half for me to read my Karen Kingsbury book "Summer". When the Dr. walked in, I told him it was perfec timing for him to come in--I was just starting to tear up! You never know when you will start crying in a Kingsbury book. I then raced to Weight Watchers for my Thursday weigh in. . .I lost 1.6 this week. With a grand total of 13 pounds I have lost in 10 weeks! So finally around 6:15 I make it home with being out all day. I have to make dinner since I'm on vacation, no excuses now! (Except I will tell you this--Mike and I are working in our Summer Kids Club at church on Wednesday nights. We are leading the 2nd and 3rd graders around to the different stations all night. This was our 2nd week and the 2nd time Mike has mentioned to me about I don't know how you do that all day five days a week and we are only doing it for two hours one day a week. I told him, now you know why I come home and can't think and don't want to cook dinner! Don't misunderstand me, he likes working with the children, he just doesn't have the experience of being around them a lot.) Dinner was yummy: grilled pork chops, carrots, green beans, and corn on the cob! Well, so know you are asking. . .it's Thankful Thursday and are you going to tell us what you are thankful for?? I did in a round about way! I am thankful for my hubby, puppy and safety.

Mike has been working out with P90X for several weeks now, so today when I was out I bought him a new workout outfit. I just wanted him to know how proud and thankful I was.

Cooper is sooo cute! I can't believe come September we will have had Cooper for two years. I have a hard time thinking back to when we didn't have Cooper. It's like he has always been part of our family. I'm thankful for our pets that God gives us!

Safety is something that we sometimes take for granted. I did over 50 miles today and God protected me the entire time. I'm so thankful for staying alert and for my guardian angels that were watching over me. (No, I was not almost in an accident. The Lord just reminded me of this tonight.) Thank you for keeping me safe--Amen.

God's Word for today: Psalm 91:11 "For He shall give His angel charge over you, To keep you in all your ways."

Be Thankful!

Fun Filled Weekend!!!

This week and weekend was full will lots of fun! I celebrated my birthday, Memorial Day and the end of the school year all in one week. I haven't been blogging much this week due to finishing up with school and other things that are keeping me busy.

I had a student in my class make me a birthday cake. It was homemade and delicious. The students love celebrating birthdays! While at recess, another student wrote me a message with sticks: Happy Birthday Mrs. Timpe!
Since my birthday was on Wednesday, we had church. So before church we went to our favorite little cozy restaurant The Clubhouse and had dinner. I got a club sandwich with french fries. (This meal is probably why I gained .4 at Weight Watchers the next day along with the cookie cake and the homemade birthday cake.)
Then on Saturday we had to be up early because of the men's street hockey tournament. Several years ago, a man in our church started street hockey and it's a great time to get to know other men in our church and invite others who might not attend church to have fellowship with other believers. Well, Saturday was the tournament. Mike's team made it to the final game, but lost 3-2. I was proud of him and glad he didn't get hurt! Mike is the goalie and has lots of gear to protect himself.

This concludes my busy week and weekend. However, my summer vacation is just beginning on Wednesday. I'm sure I will have lots of blogs this summer to let you know what is happening in Timpe Times.
